Our School

Mission

The mission of James Madison Middle School, through a partnership of students, families, staff, and community, is to be responsive to individual needs as we engage students, believing that all can and will learn, so they will be high school, college, and career ready.

Message from the Principals

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the start of another school year at James Madison Middle School. We look forward to continuing the emphasis on providing an excellent academic program for our students, as well as providing a wide variety of opportunities that enhance the total educational experience. Schoolwide goals regarding Reading and Math achievement, positive social/behavioral skills, and 21st century education will continue to be a focus for us.

The instructional framework at James Madison MS is highlighted by our interdisciplinary core teaming structure, flexible blocks of time, common planning time for teachers to plan collaborative lessons, and our variety of encore class opportunities.

James Madison is committed to helping every student succeed and show growth in school. To work towards this goal, we continue to enhance our daily schedule and instructional design. New this year, we are pleased to offer a career explorations class to all students as part of the encore class rotation. Also, we’ll continue to implement a daily enrichment/extension/intervention time as part of each school day called “Target Time”. With the belief that all students can consistently be making academic growth, target time will be utilized to engage students in instruction at their skill level that supports their needs and rate of learning around critical concepts in Reading and Math.

We are proud of the comprehensive educational program we offer at Madison, but we also feel we can always improve our services. Please accept this open invitation to visit, call or write any member of the Madison staff if you have questions, concerns or suggestions for making Madison even better. We are especially interested in how you feel we are meeting the needs of your students as we commit ourselves to maintaining a climate where all parents and students feel welcome, respected, and valued.
